Sandia PeakSandia Peak sits high above Albuquerque and boasts perhaps the nation's easiest ski resort access from a major city via a 60-person aerial tram that rises more than 4,000 vertical feet in less than 20 minutes. It is New Mexico's oldest ski area and offers beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders some long cruisers. Weekends can get crowded and lifts are old, but a weekday powder dump even can entice experts to sample its slopes.
Highway 536 Sandia Peak Tramway 11776 Highway 37 Cibola National Forest & Visitor Center Cedro Peak routesThe Cedro Peak area has a maze of trails; some go to the top, others do not. There is also a road that winds its way to the summit. None of the routes are long or challenging and do not require more than a few hundred feet elevation gain. South Face: This route begins by heading up the road towards Cedro Peak. Once you reach a fence across the road it leaves the road and switchbacks up to the top. Overall this is an easy hike and the most direct route for hiking this peak. Getting There 39 Snowline Road
